Lake Ocoee
Parksville, Tn
Lake Ocoee is located on US Hwy 64 in Polk County, TN. It was
formed when the Ocoee #1 dam was built by TVA. The Ocoee River,
the river used in the 1996 Olympics, feeds into Lake Ocoee. It is
a favorite lake for many boaters in the Polk County and Bradley County
area. It offers fishing, skiing, and swimming to all water
enthusiasts. There are two public boat ramps located on Hwy
64. The marina also has a ramp for those whom have a slip to store
their boat. One other ramp is located on Sugarloaf Mountain close
to the YMCA campground. The little island in the lake is a popular
spot for campers. There are also other spots to tent camp along
the banks of the lake. A popular spot for the skiers is Indian
Creek. Usually the water in Indian Creek is very calm and makes
for a beautiful place to ski or just camp out for the weekend.
