Do you believe in ghost? I do! While staying in my in-laws house, I got to experience a real ghost. This ghost was a young lady and her spirit lived in an old clock that still sits on a fireplace mantle. While my husband was in school at Ole Miss, the ghost lived in the clock while he was at home and would live in his car while he was at school in Mississippi. It was like she wanted to protect him or maybe she just wanted to visit Mississippi where she was possibly from. He says he would talk to her while he traveled. A few years later, after we married, we were living in my in-laws house while they were out of the country. One early evening just as the sun had set, I was walking down the stairs. I looked at the clock, and it was at that moment I saw a lady dressed like a Southern Belle. She gracefully walked toward the window. I watched as she took the hand of a young gentleman, and they vanished. We have never seen nor heard her since, and the clock continues to run. (BTW: The clock would run while my husband returned home from Ole Miss for a visit, and it would stop the moment he would leave to return to Ole Miss.)

The story of Nina Craigmiles is a very popular story and a part of the history of Cleveland, Tennessee. When Nina was young she and her grandfather were traveling by buggy when they were struck by a train and Nina was killed. Her parents had marble imported into Cleveland to build a mausoleum in which Nina would be buried. After Nina was buried some of the marble turned blood red. Thinking it was just a flaw in the marble, her parents imported more marble and had the red stained marble replaced. However, not long after the marble was replaced, the marble once again turned blood red. Anyone who travels to Cleveland, Tennessee should go by and pay their respects to Nina and see the mausoleum.

The Road to Nowhere is an unfinished road in North Carolina. In the middle part of this road there is a tunnel. The story goes that a young man hung himself at one end of the tunnel and his ghost haunts the tunnel. The road has never been finished; they say because workers at the tunnel started disappearing. The Road to Nowhere would have connected Bryson City, NC to the Great Smokey Mountains. Go and walk through the tunnel and watch out for the ghost while you travel the Road to Nowhere. Who knows maybe for those that disappeared it led to somewhere.
